Oslo, where the cold reveals the beauty

A day to discover Oslo
We explored Oslo in just one day, determined to make the most of every moment. Thanks to the public transport system, fast and incredibly easy to use, we were able to cross the city without wasting time. This efficiency allowed us to move from one district to another with surprising fluidity, as if the city itself were inviting us to wander through it.
The Opera House and the station, two modern landmarks
Our first stop was the Oslo Opera House, a white, futuristic building whose sloping roof you can walk on like a giant ramp. From up there, the view over the fjord and the city is striking. Just a few steps away, the central station impressed us with its bright architecture and lively atmosphere. It’s a true meeting point where travellers, locals, and curious visitors cross paths, setting the tone for a modern and open city.
The Royal Palace and the calm of the gardens
We then headed to the Royal Palace, surrounded by peaceful gardens where locals come to stroll, read, or simply enjoy the quiet. The place contrasts beautifully with the energy of the city centre and offers a welcome pause. Walking around the palace gave us a glimpse of another side of Oslo, softer, calmer, almost intimate.
Public saunas, a truly Norwegian experience
To end the day, we walked along the waterfront where the famous public saunas are located. Watching Norwegians go from the sauna straight into the icy fjord with such ease fascinated us. This tradition is part of the local identity, and the atmosphere around it is unique: friendly, simple, authentic. It’s a moment that perfectly captures the spirit of Oslo.
A video to dive into the atmosphere
To share this intense and contrasting day, we filmed a video that we posted on Instagram. We are also adding it to this page so everyone can feel the energy of Oslo, its architecture, its contrasts, and that special atmosphere that won us over.
Where is located Oslo, where the cold reveals the beauty ?
