Trosa: the Swedish small town that instantly relaxes us

First steps in a waterside town

We arrive in Trosa feeling like we’ve stepped into a postcard, but in a simple and authentic way. The town is small, quiet, and everything revolves around the canal running through the center. We walk along the water, past colorful wooden houses, and we immediately feel like this is the kind of place where you come to slow down. At one point, we stop on a bridge because we think we’ve spotted a huge fish… only to realize it’s just a floating branch. Still makes us laugh.

Strolling to the harbor and enjoying the calm

We keep walking until we reach Trosa’s harbor. It’s a really pleasant spot, with boats gently moving and terraces where locals sip their coffee. The vibe is very family-friendly, everyone is out for a walk, even the dogs look relaxed. We follow the path along the Trosaån river, an easy walk that eventually leads us toward the sea. It’s simple, but it works: we walk, we talk, we enjoy.

A small, convenient, and welcoming town

What we like about Trosa is how manageable everything is. A few cafés, restaurants, shops, and even a bakery where we stop for a kanelbulle. Everything is walkable, which makes the visit even nicer. It’s the kind of town where we can easily spend half a day without rushing.
