Greenwich Village: just like in the show Friends

Walking through a human?sized neighborhood

We arrive in Greenwich Village and quickly understand why everyone loves this area. The streets are small, leafy, and very residential, and it feels like a neighborhood where life moves at a slower pace. We walk around, checking out the brick buildings, the fire escapes, the small cafés… and it really matches the New York we imagined from “Friends”.

Hunting for the Friends apartment building

Of course, we can’t be here without looking for the building from the show. We wander around, convinced we’ll recognize it instantly. At one point, we stop in front of a random building saying “This is definitely it!”… before realizing it’s absolutely not. We eventually find the real one, at the corner of Bedford St and Grove St, and even though we know the interior was never filmed there, it still feels cool to see the “Friends building” in real life.

A pleasant and easy?to?explore neighborhood

What we like about Greenwich Village is how walkable it is. It’s calm, full of small restaurants, cafés, and independent shops. You can spend an hour or an entire afternoon just wandering around, grabbing a coffee, and enjoying the local vibe.
