Janubio Beach

Oh, the magnificent Playa del Janubio in Lanzarote, where black sand meets the deep blue of the ocean to create a tableau of captivating beauty! This beach, with its mysterious allure, is like a natural work of art.

Walking along this stretch of black sand...

We parked at the Costa Del Janubio parking lot and then walked along this stretch of sand.

The black sand is very soft and warm. The stroll is very enjoyable while the waves crash in a hypnotic ballet on the shore.

The air is charged with a wild and primal energy that truly made us feel alive and in tune with the forces of nature, connected to nature in all its grandeur.

Much more than just a beach...

Playa del Janubio is much more than just a beach; it's a journey through time and every lava rock is a witness to the Earth's power.

Here, we truly enjoyed gazing at the spectacular landscapes, feeling the sea breeze, and listening to the waves' song.

Swimming at Playa Del Janubio

Hey, watch out, friends! Before you dive into the waves at Playa del Janubio, let us warn you: the ocean here can be a tad tumultuous. With its mischievous currents and teasing waves, swimming can quickly turn into an adventurous experience, especially since swimming is unsupervised here.

Just a few steps from the most beautiful salt flats in the Canaries

Just a few steps (actually a few minutes by car) from this beach are the "Salines del Janubio" salt flats, a veritable maze of basins where salt has been harvested for centuries. Time seems to have stopped, as the harvesting process has never changed.
