Autumn in Lille
Categorized in North of France
As autumn approaches, Lille transforms into a masterpiece where every street, every park, every facade is adorned with the vibrant colors of the season. Among the iconic places where this transformation is most captivating is the Citadelle Park.
If you're considering a visit to Lille, we highly recommend Citadelle Park, which is the city's green lung.
We love strolling through this gigantic park, which offers immersion in nature right in the heart of Lille.
There are pedestrian paths along the banks where you'll find barges transformed into trendy bars and restaurants. There are also the essential "fritkots" in season, as well as electric boat rentals.
If you venture into the paths, you'll find yourself in the midst of a forest, along the ramparts of the Citadelle, in the shade.
The Lille Citadelle is an architectural gem. It is renowned for its superb state of preservation and is still occupied by a military barracks. Entry is prohibited, but you can walk around it. It is a Vauban Citadel, recognizable by its characteristic star shape.
It is entirely possible to cycle in Lille's Citadelle Park! Some mountain biking enthusiasts have made it their playground.
